- What days of the week do we build?Habitat builds from Tuesday - Saturday. We reserve Saturdays for faith and not-for-profit groups. Corporate groups build from Tuesday to Friday.
- How much does it cost?For a corporate group to participate, the minimum donation requirement is $5000 for a group of 20. Each additional participant will be an additional $165.
- Is there a tax receipt issued for this donation?HFHT will issue a tax receipt for $4,500 (based on a $5,000 donation)
- What is the maximum/minimum number of people who can participate?20-30 people (depending on the build site).
- What is included with the donation?Habitat for Humanity's Adopt a Day is Toronto's most unique team-building experience that engages employees and enables the company to invest in the community. Your day will include a t-shirt, lunch, snacks as well as a fun and rewarding team-building experience.
- Can someone come out and speak to our team?Absolutely! Once your day is booked, we will be happy to come out and give an informative Lunch & Learn presentation that will help recruit volunteers or motivate and inspire employees who will soon be building with us.
- What is the maximum number of people who can participate?The maximum number of volunteers is 16-30 people (depending on the build site). There is no minimum number of volunteers.
- How much notice do you require for cancellations?We require 2 weeks notice for cancellations. If a cancellation occurs after the 2 week time period, your organization will still be responsible for making the outstanding amount that is owed.
- Where are the build sites located? Hainford : The east end of Hainford St. (close to Lawrence Ave. and Manse Rd.)

- How long is the build day?The day starts at 8:30 a.m. and ends with clean-up at 4 p.m.
- What time do we arrive on site?Please arrive on the build site at 8:30 a.m.
- Will there be someone there to greet us?A representative from Volunteer Services will greet you upon arrival to register you and your team.
- Can someone arrive late/leave early?It is very important that volunteers arrive on time in order to register and go through the orientation process with your group. If you need to leave early please be sure to let your Crew Leader and a Habitat staff member know. (advance notice would be helpful)
- What should we wear?Loose, comfortable and old clothing is ideal. Please dress for the weather and be prepared to get dirty!
- Hard hats/work boots?Habitat for Humanity provides these for all of our volunteers, however, if you have your own CSA approved steel-toe work boots and hard hat, you are welcome to bring them.
- Do you provide lunch/snacks?HFHT will provide a pizza lunch, drinks and snacks.
- What if someone has dietary restrictions?Please inform Volunteer Services prior to ordering lunch so that they can accommodate your dietary needs
- What type of bathroom facilities are on site?We have Port-o-lets on each build site.

- Do volunteers need previous experience?No experience is required to volunteer in any capacity with Habitat for Humanity Toronto.
- What if someone is not comfortable building?There is something for everyone on site, please inform your crew leader if you are not comfortable with the task that you have been assigned.
- Age restrictions for Volunteers?Volunteers must be 16 years of age or older to participate on a Habitat build site.
- What kind of tasks will volunteers be doing?Tasks vary depending on the construction schedule.
