| ReStore FAQ |
The ReStore is a retail warehouse specializing in new and used construction/renovation materials. We sell our materials to the general public and the monies raised from our sales pay 100% of Habitat for Humanity Toronto’s administrative costs.
Habitat for Humanity Toronto regularly takes donated items of a construction and renovation ilk. Things like used kitchen cabinetry, appliances up to 8 years of age, light fixtures (but unfortunately not fluorescent fixtures), doors, some bathroom fixtures, and windows that are thermal pane and under 10 years old.If you are able to drop-off your donation, please call the ReStore you will be visiting to ensure your donation is suitable. Please be advised that some items normally accepted can be overstocked, and may not be accepted from time to time, so please call ahead.
We do make the occasional exception for furniture or rare décor pieces if we can see photos.
We can offer pickups for donations of a larger scale.
Pickup service is free of charge, but we do leave a lawn sign.
Tax receipts are sometimes offered for donations to the Habitat for Humanity Toronto ReStores. They are based on ReStore resale value. If the ReStore can sell the total combined donation for a value of $500.00 or more a tax receipt is issued for that amount. |
