| Nick Volk has worked with Habitat for Humanity since taking part in the 1993 Jimmy Carter Work Project (JCWP) in Waterloo, and on the 1995 JCWP in Los Angles. Nick has been with HFHT since 1993, where he has served on many of its committees such as, Board Liaison for the Build, Communications and Church Relations Committees, Chaired the Site Selection Committee, Vice Chair of the HFHT board 1996/1997, and Chaired the HFHT board from February 1998 to November 2002. |
| Nick retired from a 23 year career at CBC in Real Estate Operations, Public Relations and Management Training. Moreover, he is a former Board member of the Ontario Non-Profit Housing Association (ONPHA), and now represents ONPHA on the Rooftops Foundation Canada Board of Directors, encouraging Rooftops overseas housing developments. |
| Nick is the Ontario Provincial President of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul’s, serving those in need in their homes in over 400 Ontario locations. Furthermore, he is also Vice-President of the Board, Developer of the Society’s 164 unit affordable housing apartment building, and a Director on the Society’s National Board. |
| In October 2001 Nick was appointed by the Toronto City Council, to the Board of the Toronto Community Housing Corporation, managing 60, 000 units of Toronto’s social housing and redeveloping Don Mount Court and revitalizing and redeveloping Regent Park. |
| Additionally, Nick serves on Toronto’s Alternative Housing and Services Committee, and the Homeless and Social Isolated Persons Committee working on developing housing and homeless issues. |
