Habitat for Humanity Toronto brings together volunteers, donors and partner families to build homes and hope. Together, we have completed construction projects all over the city. We welcome your support to help us build simple, decent, and affordable homes. Volunteer, donate, and advocate. Current Projects Under Construction
4572 Kingston Road Construction began early fall in 2010 with the retooling build - where over 100 retired men and women kicked-off the project by framing the first block of homes. The site is a 29 townhouse development for families currently living under the poverty line. These residences are being built in high density, and located in an established neighbourhood where public transit and essential facilities such as schools and grocery stores can be found nearby. The first block of homes is complete, and families have begun moving in. The final three blocks will be complete in early 2012.
Macey and St. Dunstan is a development of 8 homes for families currently living under the poverty line. Two of these eight homes are fully accessible bungalow style homes, specifically designated to families with members who have physically disabilities. These two accessible homes were completed during an 8-day build blitz in partnership with Toronto Fire, EMS and Police, as well as members of the community. The remaining six semi-detached homes are currently under construction. Foundations are in, and framing is underway. These homes are slated to be completed in summer 2012.
a touching ground breaking ceremony kicked off the Acme Crescent build of 6 semi-detached homes in August 2011. Families shared their stories and the community gathered for an intimate turning of the soil. This project, located in the City's northwest will be a beautiful addition to the already lovely and quiet tree-lined street. Foundations for the homes are in and framing has begun.
