| Neil began his career in project management at Tridel Construction, Canada's largest condominium developer. In September 2000, he made a radical career change by joining Habitat for Humanity Toronto; at the time as the youngest CEO of a Habitat affiliate in the world. Since that time Habitat for Humanity Toronto has accelerated its building program from an average of 1 home every two years to 84 under construction in 2009. The Habitat Toronto ReStore operations have grown from $250,000 in 2000 to over $2.7 million in 2010. Today, Neil can be seen regularly building with Habitat for humanity locally and internationally. |
| Neil Hetherington holds degrees or certificates from University of Western Ontario - Huron College, Seneca College, Harvard Business School and the University of Virginia - Darden Business School. He is currently a candidate for his MBA at the University of Western Ontario’s Ivey Business School, expected completion January 2013. |

| Neil is the grandson of the late General Arnold Brown, the International Leader of The Salvation Army. |
| Neil currently is a board member of the COTH Food Bank and a volunteer at Out of the Cold. He writes a monthly column for the Toronto Star, is a licensed and active pilot, and in his spare time enjoys numerous sports and furniture making. |
